Maury Magids, CEO & Founder

Maury has a distinguished and proven track record as a leader in the industry. Maury was most recently the President of American Physicians Insurance Company, a Texas-based medical malpractice insurance company, where he demonstrated significant growth in surplus over 15 years with a focus on marketing, business development, tort reform, and operations. Maury led the conversion of the company from a reciprocal exchange to a stock company and was instrumental in driving shareholder value from $6/share to $23/share during this period. Maury's industry expertise, leadership skills, and innovative thinking foster Capson's growth and support the healthcare community.

Tom Cotten, CFO

Tom also has extensive industry experience. For ten years, Tom was CEO of Texas Medical Liability Trust, the largest writer of medical malpractice insurance in Texas with surplus in excess of $260 million. Prior to his tenure as CEO, Tom served in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer for the previous 12 years. During Tom's tenure with TMLT, he was instrumental in the creation of the Texas Alliance for Patient Access, the group that was largely responsible for the Texas tort reform victory in 2003. Tom serves Capson as CFO, leveraging his strong operational and financial skills, and driven by his recognition of needed change in the industry.

Lanette Matthews, JD, VP, Director, Claims

Lanette oversees Claims for Capson. Her extensive experience defending physicians as a medical malpractice defense attorney gives her a unique perspective on claims. She brings a broad and informed view of the claims process from a defense, medicine, and insurance perspective. In addition, she launched and managed the Houston office of a premier medical malpractice defense firm, giving her the business experience needed to lead our Claims group.

Andrew Maebius, JD, General Counsel

Andrew serves as Capson's Regulatory Team Lead and General Counsel. His diverse legal background includes acquisitions, financing, and lending and allows him to lead Capson's growth efforts from a legal and regulatory perspective. Andrew is instrumental in Capson's execution of its aggressive national business model.

Robyn Alcorta, JD, VP, Director

Robyn leads Capson's business development efforts, managing a diverse set of channel partners uniquely positioned to take our approach to the physician market. Before joining Capson, Robyn spent 15 years in Financial Services, most recently in senior executive leadership roles at Charles Schwab, including running a subsidiary of Schwab, The 401(k) Company. Robyn's prior leadership roles include sales, marketing, relationship management, and client service, as well as investment consulting, compliance and operations. Previously, Robyn practiced law for 5 years, after being admitted to the Texas bar in 1999.

Eric Levine, Director, Marketing

Leading Capson's marketing efforts, Eric brings over twenty years of marketing, branding, advertising and new media experience with global brands including Dell, GE, IBM, UPS, the Home Depot and Delta Air Lines. Eric has held roles including Director of Marketing for Dell and Chief Marketing Officer at $300MM enterprise software company Trilogy, following a decade in the advertising industry serving F50 global brands.

Kyle Janek, M.D., Medical Director

Capson's Medical Director, Kyle is an actively practicing, board certified anesthesiologist, and Chief of Staff and Director of Anesthesia Services at Lakeway Regional Medical Center. Kyle's experience includes serving in the Texas House of Representatives and the Texas Senate from 1995-2008. Kyle brings a physician's perspective to Capson, as well as a deep knowledge of legislation that affects physicians and patients.
